African Yacht Rentals

Renting is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a good or property owned by another person or company. The owner of the property may be referred to as the lessor and the party paying to use the property as the lessee or renter. There is typically an implied, explicit, or written rental agreement or contract involved to specify the terms of the rental. Examples include yacht rentals in all parts of Africa, but the yacht rentals are mostly founded in South Africa, especially in Cape Town.
Yacht Rental in Africa
There are several different ways in which you can rent a Yacht, depending on your skill level, and personal preferences. These are normally referred to as Bareboat Charter, Skippered Charter, Flotilla, and Crewed Charter.
Bareboat
This is where you rent a Yacht which does not come with a skipper, i.e. you intend to sail with just you and your crew, whether family or friends. Bareboat Charter probably affords the greatest degree of privacy as you can more or less sail when and where you want with no strangers on board. You will normally have to leave some form of deposit when you arrive.
Skippered Yacht Charter
In this scenario, a skipper comes as part of the deal and sails with you. The advantages of this are that you don't have to take ultimate responsibility for the safety of the boat and its crew and you have someone with you who is familiar with the area in which you are sailing and can point out the best cruising grounds and anchorages.
This can mean that you enjoy a less stressful sailing vacation, particularly if you don't have a great deal of sailing experience, or if it's your first time sailing in unfamiliar waters.
The downside is that you don't necessarily have the same level of privacy as a bareboat charter. You may also need to charter a larger boat with more berths. |
